Edward W. Gibson and wife Zerelda McMillian
All were born 1813-25 or so to William and Dorothy[Martin] Gibson in Grant

Ancestry has the above online for FREE for the
next 8 days! I found my gg-grandpa Thomas J.

occupations for each year! This family had
arrived from Henderson Co., KY just before 1888.
Great resource in lieu of the missing 1890

Hello!
Lilly B. PATTERSON was born 10/25/1862 Ky. She married my g grndfather,
William Nathaniel ELLIS on 6/9/1880 at Rockport, Spencer Co, Ind. Then,
they went back to Yelvington, Daviess Co, Ky to live with his family.
Lilly's death cert lists her father as William PATTERSON, birthplace:Ky.
Mother:Unknown Birthplace:Unknown. I have seen Lilly's name all
different ways on different records. Lilly/Lillie/Lillian/Lillien. I
wonder if her father's middle name was William and that's what he went

Surname: CUMMINGS
-------------------------
I am looking for information on Carl Cummings listed in the Vanderburgh
County, Indiana Honor Roll of Those Who Served During World War I. Any
information would be appreciated.
Hi all
I'm new to this list so am hoping I can help others and maybe, just maybe
get some clues or answers, :-)
I was fortunate to sit with my Granny (back in the very early 60's) and make
notes of what she had to say about her family. Her paternal grandfather was
an immigrant ancestor - Richard Stokely. He brought his family (wife & son
William - my Great grandfather) from England to Evansville in 1851. William
married Emma Jane Robinson/Robertson (b 1853 in Evansville) in 1879.
Richard was a 'share cropper' and didn't own any land. But farmed in both
Pigeon & Knight Twps.
The two mysteries I'm currently trying to prove or disprove are:
1) Richard joined two brothers, Robert & Henry, that were already settled in
Vanderburgh County.
2) Emma Jane Robinson's (brother was George A Robertson in 1880 Census,
Knight Twp) parents were George Robinson, Irish with red hair & Jenny, who
was born in NY of New York Dutch parents...They married about 1852 in
Vanderburgh County. Granny stated that George the elder, was a Policeman in
Evansville - about 1855. I contacted the Evansville PD & was informaed that
the Police Department was founded in 1863 & prior to that city law
enforcement consisted of a city marshal who was assisted by constables. The
only names they have are of the Marshalls & my George isn't one of them...
So if anyone knows anything about the 2 missing Stokely brothers or George
Robinson (any information at all!) I would greatly appreciate the help.

I must have missed the person who offered to do look ups. May I ask
what kind of look up? My grandmother was born in Evansville Indiana,
May 17, 1885 - Helen (Helena) Florence Canton. We aren't sure of the
spelling of the surname. She was adopted in 1893 by William and Mary
