Surname: BUECHER, TRAUPE, ELLIS
-------------------------
Edward John Buecher Remembered. . .
Born 27 April 1907, Vanderburgh Co, IN; died 2 Jan 2000, Vigo Co, IN; married
Pherba Doretha Ellis ca. 1929. Edward graduated from Central High School,
where he played football. He worked as a die-maker and assembler in several
factories in Evansville and Indianapolis, living in central Indiana after
1950. Retirement meant moves first to Fillmore, IN, and then to Brazil,
IN, for him and his wife.
His lifelong hobby was raising King and Modena show pigeons. Edward became
well known as a breeder and fancier throughout the midwest, winning many
prizes during 60 years of competition. He often served as show judge for
these breeds in his later years. He cared for his wife during her long,
last illness until her death in 1986. Afterwards he became the dear companion
of Audburn Brock of Terre Haute. At 92 years of age, he outlived both his
brothers, Earl and Harold Buecher. He is survived by children, Carol Lois
Haywood and Edward John Buecher II, and grandchildren, Cheri Lane Buecher,
Jamie Buecher, Douglas Bryan Haywood, and Gordon Edward Haywood.
Edward was the son of Philip Edward Buecher and Katie Traupe and grandson
of Philip Konrad Buecher, (1864 Baden, Germany immigrant to Evansville)
who founded Buechers' Jewelers, thriving on Third Avenue for more than
a century.

-------------------------
Hello,
I am trying to locate information about my grandmother. Her name was Edna
Allene Stacer. She was born around 1900 and married Arthur Lee Watkins
around 1920 or so. Believe she died around late 1920's or 30's. Possible
that her father was William born in Indiana in 1870 1871 and her mother's
name Emma, brothers Leon, Herbert, and Harvey. Have not been able to locate
Edna's place of death, marriage, or burial in Henderson, Ky. so thought
maybe these events happened in Vanderburgh or family ties here.
Many thanks,
