In the AniMap program, the 'place' (Liberty Indiana) is put on the
map according to its geographical co-ordinates. Then, each time a
county/state line moves (until there are no more boundary changes) you get a
new map, still showing Liberty in its original location. At no time does it
show Liberty as being in Wayne County.
...SNIP..."I also have a land indenture photocopy taken from land
records office in Liberty, Union Co., Indiana, dated 21st day of December
1819 for land located in Section 31 Twp No. 12 Range No. 1 West of a Meridian
line drawn from the mouth of the Great Miami River, which is listed as being
in Wayne Co. This land was in Union Co. once Union Co. was formed. ......"
Answer: It very well could be that the land mention above was once in Wayne
County and now is in Union county, but the original question that started all
this is as follows: > Was Liberty ever in Wayne County? My great grandmother
gave her birthplace as Liberty, Wayne County on several documents. She was
born in 1851>
My answer remains "No, Liberty was never in Wayne County". Parts of
present day Union County were once in Wayne County. From the map it appears
that Union County's boundarys never changed once it was formed in 1821.

Hi,
According to my AniMap program, Liberty Indiana does not show as being
in Wayne County, although it was very close to the County line. Wayne County
............
was formed in 1811 from Dearborn, Clark, and Knox Counties, and Liberty was
at that time (if it existed then) in Franklin County.
Was Liberty ever in Wayne County? My great grandmother gave her
birthplace
as Liberty, Wayne County on several documents. She was born in 1851
