I don't believe that they were Quakers. Hollingsworth may have been, but the others,
I believe, were other denominations. All of the names mentioned were there in the 1807 IN
Census. William Nickels started the first grist and saw mill near Duncansville IN, 1804.
My gg grandfather and ggg grandfather were involved with land near the current
Union/Fayette county lines [Union did not exist at that time]. Most of these families
including mine moved over to Vermillion and Parke counties about 1820's. I am
interested in the "Land Grants" that opened this areas of the NW Terrority.
Some of all of them remained in the Laurens Co SC region. Thanks for your reply
