Surname: VanVactor, Burt
-------------------------
I received this from a VanVactor relative last year. Hope it helps.
Sarah Burt-VanVactor was born June 13, 1787. She was the daughter of Jepheniah
and Hanna Burt, and married Joseph VanVactor in Fayette Co., Pennsylvania
about the year 1808. The became the parents of seven children, namely:
David, born Nov 7 1809, Hanna, born Sept. 25, 1811; Maria, born Oct 29,
1814; Hiram, born Nov. 29 1817; Lucinda, born Nov 2, 1821; Cyrus, born
March 28 1825; and Emily, born Jan 7 1828. It seems the two oldest children
must have been born in Pennsylvania as the records show that Joseph VanVactor
entered government land in Union County, Indiana, Sept 28 1813. So the
pilgrimage down the Ohio river in Company with Samuel LaFuse must have
taken place during the sumer of 1813. Her father and mother followed them
the next year and entered land in the same township June 17, 1814. Her
mother died July 3, 1838 and was buried in the Silver Creek cemetery west
from Liberty, Indiana. She has a nephew, Aretus Burt , still living at
Liberty. She died September 25, 1846, In Union County, Indiana. All her
children, except Cyrus had married before her death.
