I am trying to find information on WESLEY/HENRY MELLOTT. He was married to
CATHARINE STRONG (daughter of Susanna (Gaby) and Richard Strong). Union and
Fayette Counties, IN.
I don't know whether WESLEY & CATHARINE were Church of the Brethren, or not.
Since CATHARINE's family were, I'm assuming she and her husband would have
been also.
They were (according to census records), married in 1876.
The 1880 Liberty, Union Co., IN Census shows:
Wertley (sp?) Mellott, age 43, b. PA; farmer
Catherine Mellott, wife, age 43, b. IN
George Mellott, son, age 15, b. IN
Richard L. Mellott, son, age 9, b. IN
Nannie B. Mellott, dau., age 7, b. IN
--------------------------------------------------------------------
The 1900 Brownsville, Union Co., IN Census shows:
Catherine Mellott, age 61, widowed; living with Harry & Nan Whetsel (her
daughter and son-in-law).
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I found Catherine buried in Brownsville Christian Cem., next to her son,
Richard -- he died 1912 -- she died 1918.
I cannot find her husband WESLEY/HENRY; Am wondering why he is not buried
where she is...
I'd appreciate any help in locating him and finding out more about this
family. Thanks so much, Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert at iggy29(a)sbcglobal.net
