Am not researching this line, just trying to be helpful. George W John married Mary Ann
Smith in Franklin county, Ind on 1-15-1846 according to archives in the Indiana State
Library. Franklin is next door to Union county on the south. In the 1850 census for
Frankiln county, Bath township, page 197 the family was headed by George John, 26, farmer,
born in Ohio and included Mary, 23, Ohio, James, 11, Ohio (obviously too old to be their
child), Robert, 2, Ind and Phebe, 5/12, Ind. The most logical candidates I could find to
be his family lived in Union county, Harrison township, page 690 in the 1850 census and
was headed by Jehu John, 52, farmer, born in Pa, and included Catharine, 51, Ky, John, 28,
farmer, Ohio, Hester, 24, Ohio, and Enock, 22, farmer, Ohio. Hope this helps. Don
