Susan,
Here is the obit for Rebecca Stinson. As with a lot of the old obits it has a lot of
flowery prose but not too much in the way of genealogical info. However, it does confirm
where she is buried It states Remck cemetery but I believe it is actually Ranck
cemetery. If you will send your home address to my e mail address I will send you the
copy of the actual newspaper article.
Obituary
We have seldom been so deeply pained as by the intelligence of the death of Mrs.
Rebecca Stinson, who was one of the pioneers of Union county, Ind. Rebecca Williams was
born Feb. 20, 1811, and was married in 1827, died April 10, 1891., being 80 years old.
But in her long career of life she had known something of sorrow, but her heart was both
softened and strengthened by her rigid discipline. Twelve children were born to her, five
girls and seven boys, four of whom are living and who mourn the loss of a kind and true
mother.
Her whole nature was intensely religious although no special believer in any creed
except the Universalist doctrine. Like a great peaceful river with green and shaded
banks, without a ripple, she flowed into the waveless ocean of eternal peace. The funeral
services were conducted Rev H. N. Brown, of Dublin. Interment at Remck cemetery.
