The response to my offer to do lookups for surnames included in the book
"Early Settlers.." has been a little "overwhelming". I've
completed about
25 of the requests today and there are now 83 left in my inbox, most of
which are requesting lookups for multiple surnames.
Please keep in mind that the information in the book is primarily deed
abstracts, listings of original land owners and the muster rolls for the War
of 1812. I can check the index for a surname and give you all the
information for that name. I can't tell you where anyone came from, nor can
I tell you who their parents or children were.
Since some of the remaining requests have as many as 8 surnames, I'm going
to take 2 or 3 from each request and email that information. Once you have
received that, you may request 1 additional surname at a time. Each time one
is returned to with the information, you may request another. This way,
everyone will be getting some information on their families within a
reasonable amount of time.
I'm willing to type until my stubby little fingers fall off or I go blind
reading the fine print :-) Although I wasn't able to find any information
for myself, the book has proven to be a very good investment since it has
helped so many others already and several of you have sent me information on
my families in the area.

Bramble, Shroyer, Skillman. )
Some of you have expressed an interest in purchasing the book. I have
decided to donate it to the genealogy department of the local library.
However, I have placed a call to the bookstore where I purchased it to see
if they have any additional copies. I will post that information as soon as
I get a reply.
Thank you for your interest.
