In Fayette County, next door, the 'license' was a page in the ledger book.
The minister signed it after the marriage. Mine was dated 1/1/1829.
Clerks Office made a copy of the page for me, when I was there in July.
U.C. must also have a separate page with a 'list' of marriages, such as
Aventar indicated.
