I quickly looked through our genealogy books. There is one book that indexes our 5 oldest
and main sources the name TOOMEY does not appear in the index. We have 2 1/2 histories.
The 1884 Atlas (no Toomey) a small 1911 Atlas and the 1989 History.
I am sure the area of Silver Creek / Bear Creek is on private land. Permission from the
land owners would be required before you go looking for the area.
I have heard of a mill up in that area, I have never seen a picture nor have I read
anything about it. Last year we sent out a call for old pictures for "Portrait of
Liberty". Many many came in, none of the mill.
Newspapers prior to 1934 are scattered, some years do not exist. You may try for an obit
(see our USGenweb Page for a listing of all obits prior to 1970).
Steve O'Toole is the sexton of West Point and he can tell you where the bodies are
buried. His office is in O'Toole Brothers Monuments across from the cemetery.
Your best be may be in land / probate records.
