I'm looking for information on Amos Nickle and/or his parents James and Hannah (Williams). Amos moved to Parke County Indiana from Union County around 1870. Please note that I have found several variantions of the name spelling: Nichol, Nichols, Nickel, Nickles, Nickels.
I would like to communicate with anyone researching the ELY or ELI surname in
Union Co. or surrounding counties. Please contact me off-list to share/discuss
research interests.
Thanks,

After battling with a server that seemed to bounce a good lot of messages
sent, I am returning to my old server. If any of you have tried to contact
me and I have not responded, that might be why.
If you need to contact me personally, you may address it to
funyfarm(a)hit.net
On another note, in light of events of this week, if any of you have a
memorial page or know of one that you would like to share, please let me
know. I will be making a page of links for memorial/tribute pages and
putting them up on my site.
Or if you have any brief thoughts or words that you would like to share
with others on the page, they would be considered as well. Those too should
be addressed to me at funyfarm(a)hit.net

I think there is a book in the Public Library at Liberty in Union County on the KINGERY and allied families by a Robert Witter of College Corner Indiana. Thing of it is, I do believe it is NOT indexed.
I believe there is also a book on the VIRGINIA COLONY or the 4 mile Church of the Brethren. The Kingery / Witters ect were Dunkards.

HI THERE. I AM DOING MY MOTHERS FAMILY TREE AND HER MOTHERSLST NAME WAS KINGERY. IN FACT I KNEW MARLENE. I ALSO KNEW TEENIE. I JUST STARTED THE TREE AND AM HAVING TROUBLE FINDING MY GRANDMOTHER "BESSIE". I THINK I STILL HAVE AN ADDRESS FOR SOME OF HER FAMILY.
I'll send this again in case anyone new to the list can possibly help me. I am looking for a Nathaniel or Nathan Harper b. May 1805. He marrried Eliza McCammon in in Union Co. Indiana in 1834. He was listed on the 1830 Union Co. census. He had 4 children: Susannah b. 1835, Samuel, James and Thomas. He died 1840 in Union Co. I think his father was named Thomas (1741-1819?).I would guess he had other children since he would have been 64 when Nathan was born. If anyone has any information on this branch, please let me know.
Thanks very much.

The KINGERY Cemetery is in Preble County Ohio, just across the line from Union.
It is a Dunkard cemetery just like Railsback, Witter and Keffer is in Union County.

I've been to this cemetery but couldn't remember exactly where it was.
This site was mentioned on another discussion group I belong to. It is
excellent for finding those hard to find places. Hope this helps.

Thanks for any help.

connie,
this is all the information I know about Leonard. He was
born in Oklhoma city I don't know what year I believe some where in sep. 1925 0r 1929 but don't know if that's true. He then came to texas and married in 1954 my mother I don't know when her name was Anna Glale cook daughter of Doyle
nute cook and Christine Dial cook. I am there youngest daughter. If this sounds like you e-mail me.
The paper is "The Liberty Herald" published weekly.
There is no genealogy society. The Historical society is kind of active, I can not vouch for the amount of effort they put into answering letters.
