I have a Nancy and/or Huldah Leonard who married Robert Flack. They lived
in Union County In. and may have married in Cincinnati Ohio. There is some
confusion about the number of marriages of Robert Flack and about Nancy/Huldah's
lineage. just thought I would throw this in the soup.

We are Lafuze descendants - between 1823 and 1835 four members of this family
married into the WARD family in Union County. Here are two sources of
possible WARD information that we have found:
(1) an untitled genealogy of the Lafuze family written by Maurice Lafuze in
1968. It is very detailed with names of many descendants of these Ward-Lafuze
families. See pages 4 - 8 and 37 - 41. There is also information about a
history of the Ward family written by an Apollus Ward descendant. I would
guess it is available in the Richmond IN library and perhaps in the Liberty
library and pages could be photocopied or faxed.
(2) Joyce, a Ward descendant, who has given me permission to say she can be
reached at <rrehfeld(a)camasnet.com>. She grew up in Liberty and has visited
the Ward cemetery off Billingsville Rd with permission of the landowner. Her
information starts with Joseph Ward born 1734 in Essex County NJ, and the
written material includes a bibliography.
Hope this is helpful.

Hello friends,
Well the past few days have certainly been interesting ones! As many of you may know by now, the server that housed a number of the RootsWeb mailing lists crashed.
Many long, hard hours were put in by some very dedicated people, in an attempt to restore it's function. Sadly, in the end, all lists housed on that server had to be moved to another one.
In the course of all that has taken place, some lists were affected. You may notice that some lists that you subscribe to, no longer have the prepend (i. e. list name), in the subject line. Some may have lost the taglines found at the bottom.
And unfortunately, some who had mailed either sub or unsub requests to the affected lists, did not get the request met. One other problem that has arisen, was that a few people who were subbed, were lost from the list.
Things are getting back to normal, but I am still working on getting my lists edited and the custom settings redone.
Another thing you might notice and watch for, is whether your replies go back to the sender, or back to the list. Some of these functions likewise were affected.
Not all of my lists were affected by the crash, however I am going to send this to all my lists, for one specific reason. Even though you might not be on one of my lists affected by the crash, you might have been subbed to others that were. And a number of my lists were housed on that server.
I highly recommend that you check to see which mailing lists you are currently subscribed to, to make sure you are still listed as a subscriber. You can do that by going to
http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com
This would also be a good time to do a quick roll call and make sure you are getting through. Make sure your replies go back to the list. If when you hit reply and look at who it is going to, if it does not have the mailing list in the addy, you need to hit "reply to all."
For some of you, this will be the first message from me, as I had just adopted several more lists right before the crash.
Now, does anybody have any aspirin????? <BG>

Surname: Appleton
-------------------------
My William Appleton was married in Kentucky in 1805. In 1832 he applied
for a land grant in Washington County, Indiana. I was hoping that one of
your Williams may be a son or a grandson. But, it does not immediately
appear that there is a connection. I have no idea where William was born.
It may have been Kentucky, or it was have been elsewhere. I do have a lead
that a Joseph Appleton from Kentucky moved there from New Jersey (same
time period, too). I wonder if they are brothers, but I do not know. I
don't have any other leads. Thanks for getting back to me so promptly.
Good luck with your research!

What is your source on the 10th son of Stephen and Mary (polly) Genung Ward.

children and their son David and his wife Eleanor LaFuze did have more than
10 children, but only nine son's. Beverly

I am assuming that your Ward's that came from New Jersey to Union County,
Indiana include Stephen Ward and Mary (Polly) Genung. Stephen and Mary
had a son David Genung Ward who married Eleanor LaFuze. David and Eleanor
had a son Stephen Ward. Do you happen to have any information on the son
