| John Abbott was reported to be in Franklin County, Indiana, by as early as
| perhaps 1815.
|
| His first marriage was 1823 and ownership of property 1824 (in Franklin)
so
| I'm guessing he didn't arrive in Franklin until after 1820 (from Butler
| County, Ohio, where his family moved to from Pennsylvania about 1805).
|
| John's first wife was a Jane Carson. I think the Carsons were early
| inhabitants of Franklin, living just across the state line from Ohio.
|
| Any record of either family in the Gore book?

I recently purchased a copy of Early Settlers of Indiana's "Gore" 1803-1820
expecting to find additional information on some of my many ancestors who
settled in Franklin and Union Counties from 1813-1819. However, it took only
a few minutes going through the index to find that not a single one had been
referenced in this book.
So, in order to turn this "lemon" into lemonade, I'd be more than happy to
do lookups for anyone who had ancestors settle in this area prior to 1820.
Please email me with your surname request and I'll see if I can't help you
out.
The area includes the following counties: Dearborn, Franklin, Union, Wayne,
Randolph and Switzerland.
BTW-The book is for sale. If anyone is interested, please email me.
