Thanks for the response. I have read quite a bit of the information Gary
Sacre sent. I am not surprised that it is not completely verified. The
Union County History I have is a photo copy of a few pages from the book,
and I would be happy to mail you a copy. It is only a few pages - just
give me an address.
How were you able to trace Baltzer Lybrook back to his arrival on the Bennet
Gally in 1750? That must have taken a lot of research. For some reason,
I was guessing they came here in the 1730's. That is probably because I
spent a few hours in the library at Virginia Tech about 4 years ago, and
read bits and pieces that referred to Baltzer, John, Henry and Phillip
Lybrook, but I was not sure who was the elder at that time. I did see some
references to them being in Virginia in about 1750, but I am not certain
those are correct. I did see one reference to Henry as being 5'5", grey
eyes, and born in Lancaster, PA. I believe that was in some war records
description. The other thing I remember was a reference to "old Phillip
Lybrook" in the written descriptions of the 1754 Mary Draper Ingles incident.
Do you know which Virginia Lybrook was the father of the Phillip Lybrook
that moved to Indiana? Logic says it was probably Phillip Lybrook (Merle
Rummel describes the typical naming sequence), but I have not seen any
records that prove that. Perhaps Baltzer was his father.

I do not have any solid information about them in Europe. The one thing
I do find interesting, however, is that the Miller family seems to have
some information that goes back to Europe. Phillip Lybrook (1757-18??)
married Anna Miller (Mueller), and almost every state and county the Lybrooks
lived, the Millers seem to be (PA, VA, OH), so I expect it is a good guess
the families came here together.

Per my father, Roy Lybrook, who grew up in that area and has been to the
cemetery several times, the directions are: From Fairhaven, OH, go north
1 mile to Paint Creek 4 Mile Rd, turn west 1 mile to State Line Rd, turn
right (north) and go about 1/4 mile. Look across a field to a clump of
trees with a lot of overgrown brush. That is the cemetery. No one is maintaining
it so it is in very bad condition. If you want the phone number of a Lybrook
family member who can take you there, please send me a message on my email.

Gary, I am sorry if you though that I was criticising you personnaly. That
was not my intention. I just wanted others to know that there was a probable
problem with the Merle Rummell material. I agree with you completly, that
we all have to document our sources and not just take what others give
us the truth.

Concerning the Union Co. Lybrook family and other family information compiled
by Merle Rummell, I do not endorse the information as being correct. I
merely present it to people and it their responsibility to prove or disprove
the information contained therein. The name of the game is document your
sources. However,if it gives them a lead that they did not previously have
it has at least accomplished something.

I am also a descendant of Baltzer Lybrook (Leibrock)who was born in about
1728 in Germany. He arrived in Philadelphia in 1750 on board the ship Bennet
Gally. I am also looking for information on him prior to immigrating to
the U.S. I would like copies of the Union County Indiana History you have.
Please note that the information Gary Sacre sent you that was written by
Merle Rummell and is being distributed widely as fact has not been fully
documented and some other researchers have found information to dispute
some of his findings. If I can share any information, I would be glad to
do that.

I stand corrected. I talked to my dad and he said that the Lybrook Cemetery
and the Railsback Cemetery are one and the same and I now have directions
to get to it.

Have you found the cemetary you are looking for? The Lybrook and Railsback
Cemeteries are not the same. I have family living in the Fairhaven area,
which is near both cemeteries. If you want to find the cemeteries in that
area, I can get you in touch with people that could take you to them.

I have just started to research this side of my family. I recall my grandmother
mentioning a Hance (pronounced as han-cee Wiley) They lived in Memphis
or Brownsville Tennessee.
My great grandmother's name was Julia Elizabeth Wylie. She had sisters
named Cora, Edna and Laura. Their are others but I am not sure of the names
right now. Does any of these names sound familiar? If so let me know.
