of enlistment)
Letter from a “Love” researcher said that Henry went by the name of Chris. (Cannot find
letter, but believe he was from Tipton County.)

Robert Ritchey married Sarah Armstrong - same day - same Justice of Peace

Henry Richey, age 45 enlisted as a substitute for William B. McCrackin
(sp?) of Decatur County, Indiana. Paper signed in Greensburg, Decatur County.
Placed his mark on August 30, 1864. Company "D", 43rd Ind. Inf.

MARY ANN RICHEY's PENSION APPLICATION
July 14, 1890
George Rogers of Windfall, Ind. and Susan Rogers of Windfall, Ind. stated
that they had known Mary Richey for 10 years and 30 years respectively
December 9, 1891
Jeremiah Browning and John Ritchey of Windfall stated that Mary Ann Richey
has no money, property or other means of support. She is about 70 years
of age in feeble health and not able to perform any manual labor. They
request that her claim be made a special case.
January 2, 1892
John Richey age 42 and Thomas J. Stout (age 52) stated in Pension Application
for Mary Ann Richey that they had known Henry Richey since the end of the
war. This was in Windfall, Tipton County, Indiana.
February 1, 1892
Henry Copeland, Coroner for Tipton County from 1884 to 1887 stated that
he had known Henry Richey for about 10 years and was at his house on the
night that Henry Richey died. Stated that Henry Richeys death was caused
by apoplexy, old age, and other sickness unknown
