Linda,
I have done lots of research on the Sanders family. My group came from
North Carolina, married in Wayne Co., IN in 1823,was in Fayette Co., and
settled in Hendricks County, IN before finally coming to the
northeastern part of Clinton County. Sometimes they crossed over into
the corners of Tipton and Howard Counties that border Clinton. One
stayed in Hendricks Co. The only thing I know is Aaron and Abigail
Osborn/Osborne Sanders were from NC and ended in IN. They had 10
children and 3 of their sons fought in the Civil WAr. I assume you have
gleaned as much from the internet as possible.
Since the senior William married a lady from Madison Co., is it
possible the younger william could have been born there? Have you found
the younger one in the census? I live in Tipton Co. and was at the
library on election day. I live in the country. I am usually in Tipton
a couple times a month. If I can find anything you would want, I don't
mind to do it. Someone else may be able to find it faster. Maybe you
are the same person, but someone has put memorials on Find A Grave for a
lot of the Sanders people who are buried at Windfall. We discussed once
whether any of my "Sanders " people were buried there. None to my
knowledge.

I am seeking information/birth record on the child (William) born to
William Sanders and Mary Ann Jones mentioned in the following:
From The Tipton Co. book " Her Land and People".
William Sanders: farmer and stock-raiser, is a native of Hendricks
County, Ind.; was born November 15,1842, and is the son of Samson and
Sarah ( Russel) Sanders, both natives of North Carolina. William
Sanders, at the age of 10, came to Tipton Co., and was reared in the
forest by one of the pioneer farmers. At the age of nineteen, he
enlisted, in July, 1861 in Company G, Thirty-ninth Regiment Indiana
Volunteer Infantry. He participated in battle at Shilah, at Corinth,
Crab Orchard and Stone River, after which his regiment was mounted
and
known as the Thirty-ninth Maryland Infantry. Mr Sanders re-enlisted
in
1864, near Murfreesboro, Tenn., after which he was detailed as
company
blacksmith. In June 1865, he was honorably discharged. He returned
home and invested his money in eighty acres of wild land, and made
several changes until 1877, when he in Feb. 1877, returned to
Windfall
and contucted a blacksmith shop for two years, and in Dec. 1880,
purchased his present home of sixty acres where he has since resided.
Mr. Sanders was married in March 1861 to Miss MARY A. Jones of
Madison
County. They had one child --- William. He next married in March
1866 to Sarah Level. They had five childern --- Rosetta, Clinton
(deceased), Mary E., Francis M. and James. Mr Sanders was reared a
Democrat and is a member of the Masonic fraternity.
I would appreciate any help finding information/records on
William and/or his parents—thank you, Linda
