?My ancestor, Joseph Marion CLARK (21 yr) supposedly was in Civil War. He m. 16 yr old
Mary Elizabeth JULIUS of Tipton Co, IN in 1861. Their son, William Perry Clark b 1864 and
father Joseph was nicknamed "Curtis" Clark as he spent so much time in
Curtisville as his young wife was ill. She died 1870 of brain tumor. The family story is
that he went AWOL to see his sick wife.
I can't find anything about his Civil War career and assume he would have been a Union
soldier from IN?
Any suggestions?
thanks,
Patti
Patti,
Try Terrell, The Indiana Adjant General's report on the Civil War. It has a list of
all the regiemntd from Indiana and their roster. If you know athe regiment number it would
be helpful. Every County in Indiana should have a copy of this 7 volume set. I know Tipton
does. I currntly live in AZ so am sorry I can not look it up for you.
