Hi Randy,I see you have the book of " Tipton County 1844 - 1976, Her Land
and People." Does it have anything on the Clousers, Wm. Jones, and the
Sanders? Thank you for any info you can give me. They all lived in and
around Windfall. Pat

Diane,
I done have much more than what you know, but Can confirm it. From the
book "Tipton County 1844-1976, Her Land and People":
"Martin and Sally Harmon Wolford, Natives of Pendleton County, West
Virginia,
of German extraction, moved from Illinois to join other West
Virginia
families in Jefferson twp. late in 1845. Martin wolford in 1848 purchased
government land which would later be the west half of the town of
Goldsmith.
The Wolfords had 10 children, six of whom grew to maturity. ...... Of
their
children who remained in the area, John Wolford became one of
Goldsmith's
proprietors in 1876. John Wolford, his wife Sarah, and their children
later
moved to Kanas. "
The story goes on to mention a Wolford Cemetery near Goldsmith. I
currently
have misplaced my copies of the cemetery listing but I am sure others
on
this
news group have them. If you would like a scanned copy of the Wolford
Family
listing in the book, please let me know what format (JPEG, BMP, etc.)
and
the
e-mail address to send it.
