Note: I am not related to this family, but thought I would post this to help others who

from The Republican (Danville, Indiana), issue of Thursday, October 25, 1906, page 1,
column 5:
Mrs. Gustava Peterson died at her home Sunday morning. She was a native of Sweden where
she was born Dec. 7, 1829. She and Mr. Peterson were married in 1854. To them were born
seven children, three boys and four girls. Two boys and one girl died in their infancy.
Those surviving are Charles Peterson and Gertrude Peterson of Danville, Mrs. Spillman of
Jacksonville, Florida, and Mrs. Nellie Simmons of Boise, Idaho. In 1869 Mr. and Mrs.
Peterson came to the United States and settled at Tipton. Mr. Peterson died in 1872 but
Mrs. Peterson lived at Tipton until a little over a year ago when she moved to Danville
where she could be in care of her children as she had failed in health. Her death Sunday
morning was unexpected although she had failed perceptibly last week. Mrs. Peterson was a
very sweet and sincere Christian and with full confidence looked forward to the time when
she could lay aside mortality and enter eternal bliss with the redeemed in her heavenly
home. An!
d the radiant smile that came upon her countenance at the departing moments of her life on
earth was evidence that her faith was not in vain. The funeral was Tuesday, the service
being in charge of Rev. Danley and Rev. Moorman.
