You are correct on it being swamp (Prairie, Liberty, and Wildcat
Townships in the north half of the county). The Indians that hunted there
had their permanent camps in Howard County to the north, with only temporary
hunting camps in Liberty.

least it it will stop me pursuing the idea of Lewis and
his wife having any relation there. At least the Mills family anyway.
I guess it would be safe to assume that Lewis and
Margaret just struck out westward on their own, looking
to make a go of it there in Tipton County. I heard that
conditions there during that period were pretty rough.
Swamp land that needed draining, and land cleared in
order to farm. I guess it was too much for the young
family, and they called it quits, and moved back to Ohio.
