Hi Joan, Do you know how I can buy the book on Tipton County, Her Land and
People? My husband's family are from there and most of them are buried in
Brookside Cemetery. I have 4 pages from the book that someone sent me. Sense
the family moved to Windfall in 1854 thought I could find more info on them.
Thank you for any info you can pass on to me. Pat

Alphonso and Henrietta Miller had 9 children. Magic(Maggie) who married
Oliver P. Smith. Maggie and Oliver Smith's four children were Mable,
Dorothy, Nellie and Ruby who married Walter Hughes. ruby Hughes and her
family were Jefferson Township Residents.
Page 470: Shows a 1907 picture of the John D. Smith family in Jefferson
Township. A Ruby Smith is a child in this picture. Don't know if right
"Ruby Smith".
Page 284: Shows the American Legion formation in 1919 with a Charles L.
Hughes as a charter member. This was in Tipton, so there again, don't
know if right family.
The Tipton County Library or the Tipton County History Museum should have
his obit if he died in 1972, that's pretty recent. Same with his wife who
died in 1985.
Sorry, I couldn't help more.
