This book has no cover, and no index, and no author. I bought it on Ebay; it just has the
insides, but it is full of Indiana biographies. I am not researching this family, just
thought I would share. I do not know anymore about these families or these surnames. NOTE:
I don’t know if there is any additional mention of this family in the book, it has no
index. I do not want to sell this book. I am typing the biographies from it.

GLENN A. SMILEY is a native of Indiana, has been a member of the bar of the state for
twenty years, and is one of the able representatives of his profession in Fort Wayne,
where he has offices in the Citizens Trust Building. He was born in Fayette County,
Indiana, April 24, 1885, son of Milton T. and Margaret (Hinchman) Smiley. His father was
also a native of Fayette County, born in 1851. His mother was born in Rush County,
Indiana, and died June 18, 1912. Milton T. Smiley spent the greater part of his life as a
farmer and contractor and is now a resident of Rush County. Glenn A. Smiley attended
public schools while his parents were living in Tipton and Monroe counties, was graduated
from the high school at Bloomfield, Greene County, in 1908 and continued his education in
the University of Indiana at Bloomington. He graduated with the A. B. degree in 1907 and
completed the law course of the university in 1910. Mr. Smiley was admitted to the bar in
1908. Soon after graduating!
he came to Fort Wayne, and has practiced there steadily. Mr. Smiley is a college man,
highly educated, interested in civic work and has made a success of his profession. He is
a Democrat and a member of the First Congregational Church. In 1916 he married Miss
Marinne Morton, of Newport, Indiana. She died July 8, 1918. He is a member of the Officers
Reserve Corps of the U. S. A. and is a captain, is president of the Officers Reserve
Association, of the Twelfth District of Indiana, and is a member of the Chamber of
Commerce, University Club, American Legion, the Forty and Eight and the Knights of
Pythias.
