Yes, Ind Inf is the Indiana Infantry. Do you know which Regiment? There are
many companies in a regiment. If you want to get copies of his military
record, go to
www.nara.gov and look under CW information. They have the
union records there. If you live close to a branch office of the National
Archives, you might want to check to see if they have copies of the CW
records--and pensions--on film. That is a lot faster than writing to DC and
getting copies of the records.
