Am not researching this line, just trying to help. In the 1910 census for Tipton county,
Jefferson township, Dist 188, sheet 8A, there was a family headed by E. Sarah McNeil, 60,
a widow, mother of five, all still living, no occupation, born in Ind and both parents
born in WVa, and included her daughter F Flossie, 20, single, born in Ind, no occupation,
and her son H. William, 15, single, born in Ind, no occupation. For some unknown reason
it appears the enumerator place the middle initial before the given name. In the 1900
census for Tipton county, Jefferson township, Dist 123, sheet 3B, the family was headed by
James A McNeil. 60. born Jan 1840, married 29 years, born in Ind, both parents born in
WVa, a day laborer, and included his wife Sarah E, 50, Feb 1850, married 29 years, mother
of 5, all still living, born in Ind and both parents in WVa, a carpet weaver, - his son
Daniel T, 13, June 1886, Ind, at school, - his daughter Flossie F, 11, Feb 1889, Ind, at
school, and!
his son William H, 5, Aug 1894, Ind. Remember, the relationship is always to the head
of household. Since James and Sarah were married about 1871, Flossie has to be their
daughter. It also appears that James A died before the 1910 census. Hope this helps.
