That sounds like my ancestor's town he helped layout. It was exactly because
of the railroad the town stared. Goldsmith is only a handful of miles away
from Tipton and situated next to the railroad line. An article said the town
planners wanted to name it Green something (I'll have to dig the article up
again for the exact name) but that was already taken. They decided on
Goldsmith. The family cemetery is still there but no longer active.
By the way, I've got some COLE people buried in the cemetery. (It's known as
Wolford or Wolford-Wimer cemetery)
Regards,
Diane

I am not an expert by any means, but I do go through a small, very small
town called Hobbs where there is a Wicker outlet store in an old school
house next to a railroad before you get into Tipton. My Russell family
lived and are buried in Tipton, IN so I visit the library hunting info and
visiting the cemetery where my grand parents, great grandparents and great
great grandparents are buried. Hope this helps. LIsa

I am trying to find anyone who knew/knows Thelma, Peggy and Pat Guilkey. They are my mother's cousins. I'm hoping their families know information that will help me find who my g.grandparents were.
