Surname: Wolford, Mannan, Bilby
-------------------------
I was wondering if you knew where Solomon was buried... I also had an ancestor
killed at Champion Hill on 16 May. His name is Valentine Wolford. He also
was part of the 47th. I've never been able to locate where he was buried,
nor do I know if he was killed instantly in battle or if he died later
because of his wounds/treatment.

Surname: Stone, Willis, Brady, Hill
-------------------------
Looking for ancestry and any info of ggrandfather Solomon Stone who lived
in Tipton at the time of the 1860 census. He was married to Eliza Ann (Willis)
and they had five children. They lived next to a family headed by Jane
Brady. Solomon enlisted in the IN Vol 47 Regt., Co. K and was killed in
the battle of Champion Hill, Miss. His muster card showed that he was born
in Butler Co. OH but he lived his adult life in IN. Would appreciate any
info on fellow Civil War soldiers from Tipton also who might have served
with Solomon. One of his officers was Ellison Hill. Thank you

Surname: FOREMAN, SALLEY
-------------------------
In 1850 Tipton Co, IN, Madison twp, I found Hiram FOREMAN, b 1825, with
his wife, Elma Anna SALLEY, b 1825, (married in Shelby Co IN, where Hiram's
father died). In this family also are two small children, Margaret, age
2, and Dulcina, 6 months. By 1860 Hiram and Elma are found in Linn Co KS,
but the two young daughters are not with them. Is there some sort of death
records that early, to indicate when these two young children might have
died, as that seems to be the case. They never show up again. According
to birth records of subsequent children, Hiram and family would have been
in IL 1854, IN 1857, KS 1861, IL 1863. By 1880, Hiram and family were in
Prairie Co AR, and lived out their final days in Prairie and Lonoke Co
AR, Hiram dying after 1900 census.
