This is what I have in my notes. :
John KILGORE and Sarah KILGORE, his wife, were charter members of Dayton
Memorial Presbyterian church in 1834, in Dayton, Indiana, Sheffield
Township, Tippecanoe County. Sheffield is the township directly north of
Lauramie township. I don't know what connection John Kilgore had with the
other Kilgores who were charter members of the church. John lived south of
Sheffield township, near Monroe, in Lauramie township. he was the postmaster
of Huntersville from about 1840 to 1852. He also served as township trustee
in 1840 (not sure which township). Check the 1830 census; I think they are
on it, but don't have those notes here.
For some reason I thought that Sarah Kilgore might be Sarah WILEY PETERS,
but at the moment I can't remember why.
There have been posts about the Larkin family on this list before, I think.
I found a few queries about Larkins, some buried at Conroe cemetery (not too
far from Monroe) on the Ancestry message board for Tippecanoe County.
