As for local death certificates and records of death, I can't speak for the
difference, but when I rounded up death certificates for family members this
summer, I went in and looked at the books. The amount of information varied
from book to book. These were all in the 1930s, give or take ten or twenty
years. The one I really wanted was in a book that is missing. Some books had
lots of information, others had very little, and some records were filled
out completely and some not. It is entirely possible that you have been
given all the information that was on record. I wanted to know the town in
Germany where the parents of these siblings were born (as this is one
question that is sometimes included), but the closest I could get was
"Germany," which I already knew. Some records didn't even ask.

St. Mary's is a Catholic Church and is the Cathedral for the
Lafayette-Kokomo diocese (and my home parish as a child). They have a
cemetery south of Lafayette on either Old Romney Road or Wabash Avenue (I'm
not sure what the road name is at that particular point, but I could take
you right to it if I still lived there). I do not have my information with
me, because I'm on vacation, but I know you can call the cemetery and ask
about burials. You could also call the St. Mary's office.
