Good morning everyone,
I am very excited to announce that I have just finished uploading an index
to the Lafayette Journal and Courier newspaper. This is an index of
marriages, deaths, and other items of interest and importance and covers 50
years: 1902-1952. This index contains THOUSANDS of names and is a very
valuable tool for the Tippecanoe County researcher.
This index was compiled some years ago by Joan Rodenberger and she has
graciously given me permission to publish it on the Tippecanoe County GenWeb
site. I want to thank Joan for her contribution - it is tremendous and will
of great value to Tippecanoe County researchers for many years.
I also want to let you all know that Pretty Prairie Cemetery, which was
removed a few months ago, has been transcribed from the original records by
Cheryl Sterrett-Compliment. These burials have been added to Find-A-Grave
and at the present time consist of over 650 burials, with more to be added
in the next few days. Thank you, Cheryl, for all your hard work and
dedication to helping Tippecanoe County researchers find their ancestors!
Other additions that were made tonight were a few family photos:
Daniel Buck family and residence (2 photos)
Robert Sheetz
William H. Hershey family and residence (4 photos)
Hiram C. Smith
Sumner and Clara McKinley Sterrett
Unknown Civil War Soldier
There more family photos to add, so if you have some you'd like to
contribute, just let me know. Please send them in .jpg format.
I've gotten behind in some things since working on the newspaper index, but
now that it's done I hope to get caught up in the next few days.
Happy searching!
Adina
