LA,
That is fantastic! Could I get a copy of the photo (at maximum
resolution) sent to me off-list without waiting for you to post it to
Find-A-Grave? I would be most grateful, as the DOD and age at death
from his stone are the only clues I have as to Jacob's birthdate and
I am currently trying to confirm who his father was. But enough of
my problems . . .
I'm sorry, but I'm not sure what Catherine you are referring to me
looking for the stone for. Can you clarify? To answer your other
question, Amanda was Jacob's second wife and her maiden name was
Wolfgang. I have her as the daughter of Samuel (1801 - 1882) and
Anna Maria (Baker) (1810 - 1855). In case you are interested, here
is what I have on Jacob's immediate family (by both wives):

Greetings Floyd,
I have a photo of your Jacob. The stone is down now and partially covered
by grass. Thank you for sharing your photo. That old Brownie shows other
stones not standing now. And it shows the placement of Jacob.
I was wondering, did you ever find a stone for Catherine? And what was
Amanda maiden name? Her stone says wife of Jacob.
