Hi,
I have several releatives who worked for or may have the Monon or its
predecessors.
Patrick C. Long was an engineer and retired. He worked from the late 1800's
until 1920's. I am not sure when he retired. He is my gggradnfather. He
was born in Greencastle and moved to Lafayette in 1913 or so.
My grandfather, Charles F. Long also worked for the Monon. He retired as a
clerk. He lost an arm in a railroad accident.
Also, two ggreatuncles, Joseph Harold Long, may have worked for the Monon;
and James P. Long, may have also worked during the 1920's as a mchanic.
Another ggrandfater, James E. Nelson worked for the Monon as a carpenter.
Finally, my other gggrandfather, Daniel Sullivan may have worked for the
Monon as well. I know that he lived in New Albany in the late 1850's and
moved to Greencastle in the late 1870's.
I am, of course, interested in any information you nay have regarding these
famliy members or others that your records may indicate worked for the
Monon.
Jim Long
