I research the family of Daniel Jackson who according to the county history, arrived in
Tippecanoe Co. c1848. His wife was Harriet Weaver. While I have an extensive file on
Daniel's life in Tippecanoe Co., his boyhood remains a mystery. According to his
death record and obituary, he was born in "Burlington, Ohio, in 1829." His
father's name is not given except for the surname of Jackson, and his mother's
maiden name is given as "Hurley." Census records re their birthplaces are
inconsistent, but all agree Daniel was born in Ohio. I have located a place in Ohio where
there were Hurleys and Jacksons living, New Burlington in the corner of Clinton and Greene
Counties, but I am at a brick wall. I am hoping that one of Daniel and Harriet's
children have left oral or written history behind in Tippecanoe Co. that would give me a
clue to their father Daniel's origins. Children of Daniel Jackson and Harriet Weaver:
Evon Andrew Jackson; Lewilla Armintha Jackson w/o Thomas Denni!
gan; Edward Albert Jackson; William Dallas Jackson; Morton Oliver Jackson and John
Sherman Jackson. Any hints will be appreciated.
