I do live in Lafayette and I do have access to obits from my local library. I post the
ones I happen to come across in doing requests for RAOGK - I'm the volunteer for the
county. I'm not sure how the obit daily times thing works, but for J&C, there is
an index online for 1902-1952 on the Tipp. Co rootsweb site, I am not affiliated with that
site, so you would have to contact the webmaster directly for permission to link and such.
In addition, our library has indices for obits for years other than those mentioned above
that were jointly compiled by the Tipp Co Historical Association and the Tippecanoe County
Genealogical Society (TIPCOA). They have since divorced so I don't really know how
permission from them would work - but I know some TIPCOA folks frequent this board and
could elaborate.
As for me specifically, you are more than welcome to use what I have posted, although I
don't have the newspaper's permission...
All of the obits are on microfilm in the library, and there are some years that were not
done by the above groups, so perhaps I could work on those and everybody's happy! I
don't really know what all it would entail, b/c the ones I've posted thus far,
I've printed from microfilm and it's 10 cents a sheet, which isn't exactly a
fortune, but quickly adds up, ya know?
Let me know.
Best,
Sabrina
