I have used the microfilm from the LDS library to get information on my people from
Tippecanoe County in this time frame. I have never found death records on my ancestors
although they lived in Indiana at the time of the 1880 census. I just did a quick
ancestry.com check on alfred loney and did not find anything additional. good luck

Subject: [INTIPPEC] Alfred & Elizabeth LONEY - need help
I have been trying to locate deaths of Alfred and Elizabeth LONEY for a very
long time now and seek assistance from this group.
They were on 1840 and 1850 Sheffield Twp. censuses:
1850 - Alfred Long [sic] - age 35, blacksmith, b OH
Elizabeth - age 36, b OH
Joanna - age 17, b OH
Richard - age 14, b OH
John - age 12 (?), b OH
James - age 06 [?], b IN
Joseph - age 03, b IN
Richard Williams - age 35, farmer, b OH [Elizabeth's brother]
I have found James, Joseph, and Charles [b Jun 1851] but no luck on Alfred,
Elizabeth, Joanna, Richard, or John and have exhausted all ideas on finding
deaths. James, Joseph, and Charles wound up living with siblings of their mother
- DeHart and Storms families.
In Indiana was there such a thing as Guardianship filings for orphaned
children? There was in Ohio for many-many years and I have found them to be
invaluable as they show who is assigned guardianship of the children and frequently
states date of deaths of parent(s). If so, does anyone know if there are
Guardianship records in Tippecanoe and where I could write for assistance.
Since I am in Ohio and unable to travel, I need some help in that regard as
well as Deeds or Wills or Land Partitions - if no Will.
Thank you very much for any consideration and suggestions.
