MISS EMMA WEIL CALLED BY DEATH
Miss Emma Dorothea Weil, 69 lifelong resident of Tippecanoe county, and well known in
local church work, died Friday morning at 5:50 o'clock at the family homestead on
Lafayette route5, Dayton road. She had been ailing since last January, but confined to
her bead only two days.
A daughter of John W. Caroline (Maurer) Weil, she was born in the Linnwood addition,
December 3, 1865, and at the age of three years moved with her parents to the farm on
which she died. Miss Weil was a member of the St. Paul's M.E. Church and for several
years took an active part in the Ladies Aid society and the Home and Foreign Missionary
societies of that church. She was also a member of the Narcissus Charity club. Surviving
are two sisters Miss Caroline Weil, well known china painter, with whom she lived, and
Mrs. A. L. Ross of Chicago.
The body was removed to the Bradshaw funeral home and will be returned to the family
residence Saturday afternoon, where friends may call. Funeral services will be conducted
from the residence at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon, with the Rev. H. Earl Moore,
pastor of St. Paul's M. E. church, and the Rev. G. S. Reedy, of Dana, officiating;
interment in the family lot in Springvale cemetery.
