I wanted to share some good news I found today.
One of the history books on Tippecanoe County is listed free on Google books. You can
search it and also download the book.
There may be others too.
Past and Present of Tippecanoe County, Indiana

Another excellent source for old books is Heritage Quest. Many libraries subscribe to it,
and you can access it from your home computer by having the library set it up to access it
with your library card. Many of the old histories are scanned in full, including the old
1888 history of Tippecanoe County, as well as family biographies. The books can be
downloaded or printed. They also have scanned census records through 1930. You can do a
search for names and places, but don't always get complete results, and the actual
books are not searchable. On the other hands, I came up with a biography of a
"missing" aunt in a biography of a family name I had never heard. I had skipped
over the listing half a dozen times before I opened it and hit pay dirt.
