Have you checked the state library in Raleigh for the census indices? The
library in Charlotte, NC even has the TX 1880 census index.

Subject: [INTIPPEC] Indiana Birth and Death Records
Does anyone have any ideas for finding a record for an 1857 birth or
an
1863 death in Tippecanoe County, Indiana?
I'm having trouble finding information about my great great grandparents.
I have a death certificate and marriage certificate for my great
grandmother, Rose Lee NAYLOR ROBINSON, who supposedly was born on 1 Jan
1857 in Lafayette, Indiana, daughter of Charles NAYLOR and Mariah LEE
NAYLOR. So far, I have only been able to find Rose Lee in the 1880 census
(Crawfordsville, Indiana) living with my great grandfather, George E.
ROBINSON.
I did find a Charles A. and Maria NAYLOR in both the 1860 and 1850 census.
But they don't look like the correct family. They didn't have a Rose Lee
in 1860, but had a three-year-old Chas. H.
In Raleigh, NC, I have access to an LDS Family History Center and to the
census microfilms, but no census indices after 1860. I looked through
1870
Lafayette and didn't see any NAYLOR's. (But Lafayette was
really big in
1870, and I was getting hypnotized.) I'm beginning to think that Rose Lee
didn't live in Lafayette.
Could someone help point me in the right direction? Thanks.
