I have to second that! I just came from TIPCOA, I am now home in Michigan
and I found so much information. That is a wonderful resource and I am
getting my information together to donate to them, maybe we all should do
that! Beth

Subject: [INTIPPEC-L] TIPCOA/Jackson family name
Hi all,
Although I now live in Texas, I recently returned to Lafayette to visit my
family and took advantage of my time to visit the public library (which had
moved since I lived there) and the Tippecanoe County Area Genealogical
Society
library. I was thrilled with what I found! The family file on the
name
Jackson revealed a link I had been searching for for some time. The
probate
records of a will also gave me several more names of family who
appearantly
moved out of Tippecanoe County to add to my tree. Unfortunately, I was
only
able to spend one day at these locations and am sure there was so much
more
progress I could have made. Anyone who has not utilized TIPCOA is missing
a
great opportunity.
Now that I am back in Texas, I am looking for some help. The Jackson
family
file had a family page on Phillip and Huldah McCleary Jackson and
their
son,
Ferdinand Cortez Jackson, but there was no name on the person who
provided
this information. This was one of the links I had been looking for. I am
also searching for the parents of E. William Jackson (per 1900 Fountain
Cnty
census but also possibly William E. as per the 1910 Fountain Cnty
census -
The
E. probably stands for Ellwood). His daughter Margaret J. Jackson is
listed
in society pages as a cousin to my great, great Aunt (Etha May
Stephens,
also
known as Deanie, who had cut out and kept these articles). Margaret
married
Ferdiand's son Thomas O. Jackson, who was also a cousin (a cousin
married
a
cousin). They lived in Tippecanoe County for many years. Also, I
would
appreciate hearing from anyone with information on Amos (brother to
Phillip)
Jackson and wife Hannah Edwards Jackson, Matthias Jackson (younger
brother
to
Amos and Phillip and executor of their father Samuel's will), and
a James
H.
Jackson (relationship unknown).
Thank you in advance to any and all who can help,
Terri O. Shanks
