New PERSI Search Page
You've all heard about the PERiodical Source Index (PERSI) with over
50,000 records to search from! To make your searching even easier and
more productive, Ancestry has designed a new search page specifically
designed for PERSI.
Now, instead of entering a keyword to perform your search, you can
search by using the following categories: location (Alabama, Canada,
etc.), subject (this is usually a county when location is a state,
etc.), record type (history, church, military, cemeteries, etc.), topic
(Civil War, Native Am., etc.), article title, periodical title, and year
of publication.
This 1997 update of PERSI is organized into the following sections:
surname (articles about a specific person or family, methodology (how-to
articles for certain record types), and locality. Use PERSI to find
articles written about people and places in your ancestry and save
yourself hours of research!
Visit the new PERSI Search Page by going to:
http://www.ancestry.com/ancestry/search.asp
and selecting PERiodical Source Index (Retrospective Update) under
Subscriber Databases, and then clicking on the gray Search button.
