If people reply to this request, would you please post them to the list? I,
too, will be in Tippecanoe Co. in April of next year and am interested in
what you all have to say!

Subject: [INTIPPEC-L] Armstrong, Thomas and Abigail
Hello. I just found the list today and would like to request
information.
I
have found me ggggrandparents in the 1850 census in Hamilton Co.,
Jackson
Twp.
and in 1860 in the Tippecanoe Co, Census in Jackson Twp. Post office
Sugar
Grove. In 1860 they were age 77 and 76. Other members of the family
came
to IL but there is no record of Thomas and Abigail coming. I will
be
coming
to Tippecanoe Co. in August to search for info on them. An
interesting
fact
was that in both the 1850 and 1860 census Abigail was living with
their
daughter, Elizabeth and her husband Alpheus Keats and family and that
Thomas
was living with their son, Thomas II and his wife Lydia and family.
It
appears from the census that the dwellings were next to each other and that
both were farmers. In 1860, Elizabeth's husband was William Phillips. I
am
wondering if Elizabeth's first husband had died and she
remarried.
I would like any suggestions on where I might begin my search. I am
interested in death certificates, obituaries, marriage license and what
ever I
would need to do. I am new at this and would appreciate any help. I
am
also
interested in Genealogical Groups from that area.
Thank you. Marilyn J. (Armstrong) Mix from Illinois.
