Hello again, Sorry about that, the message was on its way before I was ready.
In 1850, Thomas and Abigail ARMSTRONG, their son Thomas ARMSTRONG II and his
second wife, Lydia and daughter Elizabeth and her husband, Alpheus KEATS and
some of their children moved over land in covered wagons to farms at Baker's
Corner's in Hamilton County.(info from 1850 census). In 1854 the families
moved to Jasper County, IN, remaining part of a year. They then moved to
Prairie Chapel in Tippecanoe County, IN. to a farm owned by Andrew Insley. A
little later they moved to a Millie Beasley farm near New Richmond and Sugar
Grove. In March of 1864, Lydia PATTON ARMSTRONG died and a daughter, Melcena
stepped in to care for 6 younger children. Samuel ARMSTRONG, son of Thomas II
and his first unknown wife, moved to Mercer County, IL. in 1857. In the
Tippecanoe County, IN 1860 census, Thomas ARMSTRONG was apparently living with
his son, Thomas II and Abigail was living with her daughter, Elizabeth who was
now married to William PHILLIPS in adjoining farms. Thomas II and his
children followed his son, Samuel to IL in 1864. I have lost track of Thomas
and Abigail who were 77 and 76 on the 1860 census. I believe they may have
died and are buried in Tippecanoe County. I would appreciate any help from
there. I had hoped to come to Tippecanoe Co. but haven't been able to yet.
