Jerry Chambers, employed as a motorman on the Lafayette street car lines,
died Thursday morning at 10:00 o'clock at his home. 1502 Greenbush Street.
He was taken ill last Sunday and death was caused by erysipelas. Mr. Chambers
was 35 years old and was born in Frankfort. He had resided in Lafayette
for 15 years and had been in the employ of the street car company for three
years.
He had a pleasing personality and had many friends who will be grieved
to learn of his death.
Surviving are his widow and two Children, Lillian and Leslie. He is also
survived by his aged father, George Chambers of Frankfort and a sister,
Mrs. May Brack of Frankfort, and five brothers, John of Newburg, James
of St. Paul; Birch of Newark, and Mort and Ollie, of Indianapolis. The
body was taken to the Soller-Harrington parlors to be prepared for burial.
The deceased was a member of the Lafayette Aerie No. 347, Fraternal Order
of Eagles
