Hi everyone,
I have just transcribed the will of John W. Stewart and his wife Mary E.
(Watkins) Stewart, dated Nov. 17, 1906. Two codicils were made by John
W. Stewart after the death of his wife. John and Mary did not have
children of their own so the wills and codicils mention siblings, nieces
and nephews, etc. Heirs mentioned were:
William G. Stewart and Hattie Barrett, siblings of John W. Stewart.
Addie Sherry Watkins
Ownie May Watkins
John Watkins
children of John M. (N.?) Watkins, brother of Mary E. Stewart.
Lillie Casad, her niece.
Vina Watkins
Nina Watkins
James Burt (Burk?)
Josie Burt (Burk? Josie Watkins married James Burk in 1904)
Isaac Andrews of West Point
Elmeda Andrews, dau. of Isaac Andrews
Nora Andrews, a grandniece, and dau. of Carrie Andrews (wife of Isaac)
Porter Rector, no relationship given.
If any of these folks look familiar to you, please let me know. I'm
searching for whatever information I can find on the Watkins family of
Battle Ground and West Point in Tippecanoe County, and Green Hill and
Independence in Warren County.
Mary Watkins Stewart was born 1848 in Sussex Co., Delaware, and was the
daughter of James Thomas Watkins and Elizabeth Vaulx. James was a half
brother of my gr.gr.grandfather Josiah Watkins.
Forever searching Watkins.....
