I gave you the wrong DOD for George William. His real DOD was Jan. 24,
1909. George W. Conn, the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. William E. Conn,
who reside at 1113 Ferry Street, died at 12:45 o'clock yesterday
morning at St. Elizabeth hospital. Death was due to a complication of
appendicitis and peritonitis and came after a brief illness. He was
taken ill early Tuesday morning with an acute attack of appendicitis,
and was removed to the hospital Wednesday morning, where it was found
that a surgical operation was necessary. The operation was performed
Thursday morning, from the effects of which he soon rallied, and until
the moment of his death showed great vitality. He made a strong fight
for life and did not give up until a few moments before the end came.
He was born at Otterbein, July 20, 1894, and with his parents moved
from that place to this city in November 1898. H was a member of
Trinity M. E. Sunday school and the Junior Epworth League. He was a
young man of great promise, studious and possessed a high character. He
was very popular at Washington school, where he was a pupil. His death
is a particularly sad one, and the parents have the sympathy of a large
circle of friends in their bereavement. Besides the parents, he is
survived by two brothers, Josph S. and Otto L., and one sister, Mrs.
Jacob Evans. The funeral will be held at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning
from the residence. Friends may view the remains this evening and
tomorrow morning. (from the Lafayette Daily Courier Jan. 25, 1909) I
also have an obit for Jennie Conn, wife of William E. Conn. Do you need
that one?
