McAllister Park and McAllister Center were named for Mrs. McAllister and her late husband,

They provided the community with a legacy of park and community facilities with their
generous contributions. They were very active in Camp Tecumseh.
Born Dec.4, 1902, in Logansport, she graduated from Logansport High School in 1920 and had

Mrs. McAllister graduated from Rush Presbyterian College of Nursing in Chicago, where she
was a member of the Golden Lamp Society. She was a registered nurse.

Tri Kappa sorority, Home Hospital Auxiliary, Wabash Valley Hospital Auxiliary and a former
board member of the hospital. On March 3, 1989, she was awarded the Marquis de Lafayette

Mrs. McAllister was a member of the Purdue Presidents Council and the John Purdue Club,
and she was a Boilermaker fan.
She has established several professorships and scholarship funds at Purdue University - a
