I looked at my file. I think there are records at the research library that would help you
to evaluate your family stories. They have a copy of an address by Alameda McCollough
about the Indians at Wyandotte: McCollough, Alameda. "Peter Langlois, the Fur Trader,
His Business, and His Family." Talk delivered at the reunion of the Priest family.
Aug. 13, 1978. Family file. TIPCOA. There is also a paper prepared for an earlier Pioneer
Day celebrations: Ilgenfritz, Eleanor. "Life of the Indians and Early Settlers at
Wyandotte: Notes obtained from Mr. Elmer Waters, South Raub." Paper prepared for 4th
annual Sheffield Township Community Day Picnic and 2nd annual Pioneer Day of the
Tippecanoe County Historical Association, Aug. 17, 1934. In addition, census and land
records will show you the history of the Reserve and thoe who lived there. After about
1840, they were all whites. Good luck.
