Thanks to those who expressed interest in the ceremony honoring Thomas
Goldsberry as a veteran of the Revolutionary War. The ceremony will be
conducted by the DAR and the SAR on Saturday, May 19 at 11:00 AM at
Wyandotte Cemetery, which was also known as Goldsberry cemetery. This
cemetery is located south of the town of Dayton, Indiana. Dayton can be
reached via Interstate 65. When you get off at Dayton, you will be on State
Road 38. After coming in to Dayton on State Road 38, turn south onto Dayton
Road at the town hall, cross the railroad tracks, and drive on until you
come to the cemetery on your right, just past a wooded ravine. It is about a
mile. If you come to a T you have gone a bit too far. The cemetery is back
from the road so it is easy to miss. There is a small grassy area next to
the road. The graves are behind this grassy area. When the area was settled,
there was a small Indian village down the ravine from the cemetery.
The committee would appreciate knowing if you are interested in attending.
They may contact you about the ceremony. You can email me at
clawsonsy(a)hotmail.com. I will pass your names to the committee.
