My ancestors were German and from Lafayette. The church where they
belonged was St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church. It is
still in existence today and may have records to help you. I found the
church by just
searching on the internet.

My great granduncle, John STRANTZ, was a member of, was married
(1867) in, and had his funeral (1915) in the German Lutheran Church
in Lafayette. Can anyone tell me where this church was located? Is
the structure still there, by chance? I lived in Lafayette for 19
years and don't recall ever hearing about it.
