Mrs. James Cole died Thursday night at 6 o'clock at the home of her daughter,
Mrs. Byron M. Cool, 109 Meredith street, Frankfort, after an illness of
two months duration with blood poisoning. Funeral services were held at
Buck Creek church this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, Rev. George V. Morris
officiating. There was a short prayer service at the residence before the
funeral party went to Buck Creek. Helen M. Johnson was the daughter of
Christopher and Ann Johnson and was born April 13, 1831, in Green county,
O., being at the time of her death 80 years old. Early in her childhood,
______ accompanying her parents, she moved to Tippecanoe county and located
on a farm near Battle Ground, where she resided for a number of years.
At the age of 21 years, she was united in marriage to James Cole at Reynolds,
White county, where she and her husband resided for about four years, after
which they moved to Tippecanoe county and located upon a farm near Buck
Creek, where she resided until the death of her husband, which occurred
October 11, 1902. To this union eight children were born, they being Robert
Carson, James Marcelius, Alfred Addison, and Mrs. John Lyon, who are deceased,
and Mrs. G. W. Rorick, of Frankfort; Marshall Ellis Cole, of Colburn; Mrs.
M. B. Cool, of Frankfort, and Albert Cole whose whereabouts at this time
is unknown, all of whom survive her. She is also survived by one sister,
Mrs. James Young, of Los Angeles, Cal.
